Who I Am - Dr. Arianna Picco
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Ordine degli Psicologi della Lombardia (n. 26118) and the Colegio Oficial de Psicólogos de la Comunidad Valenciana (CV19604). I am also a psychotherapist in training within a Cognitive–Neuropsychological framework at the
Scuola Lombarda di Psicoterapia (SLOP).
Driven by my interest in the correctional system, in 2023 I completed a Second-Level Master’s in Legal, Penitentiary, and Criminological Psychology at the University of Urbino.
For years I have worked within penitentiary settings, where I provide psychological support, observation, and treatment as an expert under art. 80 O.P. I offer individual support aimed at suicide prevention within the prison population, and I conduct psychological assessments as
part of institutional treatment pathways.
I have also gained experience in the field of addiction, offering psychological support to inmates with substance-related difficulties and accompanying them in their personal growth processes.
My professional experience has been enriched by periods of work and training abroad, particularly in Spain. This allowed me not only to deepen my knowledge of the Spanish language but also to encounter different cultural contexts, broadening my clinical and
personal perspective.
For this reason, I now offer psychological support both in Italian and Spanish, in person and online.
For me, psychological support is not about “treating a symptom,” but about reconnecting the threads of one’s story: recognizing what has been lost, giving voice to what remained unspoken, and finding the courage to feel alive again.
My approach is rooted in the belief that psychological wellbeing does not come from becoming someone else, but from returning to oneself — more freely, consciously, and authentically.
I welcome you into a space of calm, listening, and possibility, where each meeting becomes a
step toward discovering your unique way of existing.

MY STORY
Since childhood, I have been guided by curiosity, wonder, and a deep desire to explore the world.
Travel, languages, and cultures have never been just passions, but ways of understanding people: through words, gestures, and habits, I have always tried to grasp what moves human beings — their bonds, their choices, their unique presence in the world.
This desire to explore led me to travel widely and to live for a period in Spain, a country that became a second home to me. There I had the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally: I obtained the recognition of my professional title and registered with the Spanish Board of Psychologists, expanding even further my way of thinking, observing, and meeting others.
Today I offer psychological support in both Italian and Spanish, continuing to cultivate languages as tools of connection and understanding.
If I had to describe the heart of my approach, I would say it is shaped by two elements that have always accompanied me: wonder, which reminds me that every person is a new world to discover, and care, which allows us to stay close to another human being without judgment, fully available to listen.
My professional path is deeply intertwined with my personal one: I am someone who loves learning, traveling, and being surprised — and this same spirit accompanies every session, every encounter, every story entrusted to me.

MY MISSION

The heart of my work is the desire to offer a safe, human, and authentic space where each person can rediscover continuity, meaning, and possibility.
My mission is built upon four pillars that guide every meeting, every word, and every step of the therapeutic journey.
Listening
Every path begins in a welcoming space where words can emerge without judgment. Listening is, for me, an act of presence: being truly there, giving space to the other’s uniqueness — their way of feeling, thinking, existing.
It is the place where everything begins.
Awareness
Awareness is the core of the psychological process. Recognizing what one is experiencing — thoughts, emotions, relationships, patterns — allows for understanding, and from there, transformation. Through awareness, a person can find balance, continuity, and new ways of relating to the world.
Curiosity and Wonder
“Keep your sense of wonder for everything that is new.” This phrase has always guided my way of working. Curiosity is a vital movement: it opens, expands, and offers new perspectives. Wonder makes change possible — because nothing is ever completely fixed, and within the unexpected lies new knowledge.
Authenticity and Continuity
Every psychological journey is a return to oneself, a recovery of one’s inner voice. The goal is not to become someone different, but reconnect with one’s story, integrate its fragments, and bring coherence to one’s life.
Authenticity means inhabiting oneself with greater truth; continuity means carrying that truth into everyday life.
